Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is an immigration program that allows employers to hire foreign nationals for jobs they haven’t been able to fill locally.

Newfoundland and Labrador
Nova Scotia
Prince Edward Island
This program facilitates immigration by connecting two parties:- Foreign nationals interested in becoming residents of Atlantic Canada
- Employers designated by the government to hire foreign nationals
How it works:
This is an employer-driven program that helps to hire foreign workers, Applicants arriving in Canada must have a job offer from a designated employer. After meeting the requirement and criteria of employment needs by candidate, an employer will need to first offer them a job
To obtain this work permit, candidates will be required
- Valid job offer;
- Letter from the province
- Commitment to applying for permanent residence within 90 days of the temporary work permit application.
Three programs operate under the Atlantic Immigration to target different types of candidates.
Atlantic High-Skilled Program – This program for skilled workers with management, professional or technical/skilled job experience. The job offer must last for at least one yearJob Offer
- Candidates must have a job offer that is from an AIP-designated employer in an Atlantic province.
- Be skill type/level 0, A, or B.
- Last at least one year.
- Job offer made by using the correct federal government form.
Work Experience
Candidates must have work experience of at least one year within the last three years. It can be full-time, non-continuous, or part-time.
Education- Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree.
Funds – Candidates need to show they have sufficient funds to support themselves and their families after immigration.
Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program – It targets candidates for jobs requiring a high school education and/or job-specific training. There are also other requirements.
An approved language test and meet the level for speaking, listening, reading and writing. Candidates must have a job offer that is from an AIP-designated employer in an Atlantic province.
Candidates must have work experience of at least one year within the last three years. It can be full-time, non-continuous, or part-time.
Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree.
Candidates need to show they have sufficient funds to support themselves and their families after immigration.
Atlantic International Graduate Program – Aimed at the candidates who have a degree, diploma or another credential from an institution in an Atlantic province. Work experience is not required. The job offer must last for at least one year.
Candidates must have a job offer that is permanent and using the correct federal government form.
Candidates do not need work experience.
Candidates must have a minimum two-year degree, diploma, certificate, or trade or apprenticeship credential from a recognized publicly-funded institution in an Atlantic province and have been a full-time student in Canada for at least two years
The candidate does not qualify if they have taken Distance learning undertaken for more than half of the program.
